BREED CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

4TH of May, 2008

Mr. J. Aitken Johnston

It was an honour to be invited to judge the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association’s Club Champion Show.

I have been looking forward to this appointment since my invitation to judge one of my favourite hound breeds. I was not disappointed in the depth of quality in many classes. Type did vary, but this comment can be levied at many breeds. I was more than pleased with the quality of the young stock coming through. So many promising youngsters is a credit to the breed and particularly to the breeders. The strength in the breed, at the moment, appears to be in the bitch classes. Ridges were generally acceptable. Toplines varied. I found conformation and type. The factors every breed requires, was of a very high standard.
