BIS VOORTREKKER BAMBA
BOS MATABELLE MOZART
BPIS Slater and Young's Flametrees Shirani of Shabani

I would like to thank the SRRA for inviting me to judge their open show and for their faith in me to be recovered in time after my brain surgery in May. (I've had all the jokes and yes, they did find one) The venue at Stag's End enabled us to have a large ring so you should have all been fitter by the end of the day! Movement on the whole was good. Fronts are improving, still some flat feet though. Hindquarters need watching as some were very weak, also a few with incorrect tail carriage. Ridges were good with the exception of one or two who were penalised. Mouths were excellent as were temperaments. I was thrilled with my bitch line-up. All thoroughly sound and true to type.

PUPPY DOG (1.1)

JUNIOR DOG (1)
1.Craigie's Imbali Kipenzi JW. Although standing alone, this dog really fills the eye. Best of heads with excellent proportions. Well defined stop and deep, powerful muzzle. Lovely dark eye with intelligent expression. Excellent well boned straight front and feet. A powerful neck of good length which leads into well laid shoulders. Ribs well sprung and carried well back. He covered the ground effortlessly with plenty of drive. Excellent ridge. Reserve Best Dog

NOVICE DOG (4.1)
1.Imbali Kipenzi JW
2.Gadson's Bamuthi time traveller. Not the air of confidence as 1. A nice head, good ridge and pleasing hindquarters with well defined second thigh. Let down by flat feet otherwise in lovely condition.
 3.Geeve's Matabelle Mutambara

POST GRAD DOG (5.1)
1.Brownlee's Saragwe Hodari Jambaro. A balanced dog with good head. Well boned, straight front and deep capacious chest. Well ribbed back into powerful muscular loin. Good front and rear angulation. Moved well keeping a level topline. Lovely type.
2. Bamuthi Time Traveller.
3.Deane Simmons' Kiromol Khari

LIMIT DOG (4.2)
1.Mansfield's Nallim Unqaza. Dark red wheaten. Although this dog is not the type I look for he has much to like about him. Well made head with dark eye and correct earset. Strong clean front with good bone and feet. Deep chest but shorter ribcage and topline drops off at the croup which affects his movement.
2.Crunden's Voortrekker Ku Siya. Finer boned and not as good in front as 1. Lovely head with kind expression. Movement erratic but what a happy fellow.

OPEN DOG (3.1)
1.Piehl's Matabelle Messenger. This dog presents such a superb outline. Beautifully balanced head with correct depth to muzzle. Long, lean powerful neck. Good front and rear angulation with shoulders well laid back and correct bend to stifle with hocks well let down. When moving he covered the ground with ease. A joy to watch.
2.Storey's Kiromol Khalfani. Dark red wheaten dog in wonderful condition and moving well in profile although not as accurate as 1 in front and behind. Good head on a strong neck flowing into well angulated shoulders. Deep chest with plenty of heart room and ribbed well back. Strong loin and good width through hind quarters.

VETERAN DOG (5)
1.Piehl's Matabelle Mozart. The best moving class of the day. 8 year old clear red without a hint of grey. So sound all through with correct conformation and so beautifully balanced. In excellent condition and teeming with quality, he really was enjoying his day out. Moving he did not put a foot wrong. He combines substance with elegance. Delighted to make him Best Veteran, Best Dog and Best Opposite Sex.
2.Crunden's Imbali Inkosi of Voortrekker. 8'/z year old light wheaten. Another terrific mover, flowed round the ring. This dog has a head to melt you with the darkest of eyes, perfect proportions, flat skull, broad between ears and well defined stop with long, deep and powerful muzzle. Excellent front and feet.
3.Simper's Roseridge Regent of Matabelle (imp).

PUPPY BITCH (3.1) I.Slater and Young's Flametrees Shirani of Shabani. Litter sister to 2. 7 months and at that leggy stage. More of a racy build but still very much a baby. Dark red with black muzzle. Would prefer more definition of stop and more width between the ears and through the jaw. However front looked good and feet were nice and tight.
2.Carlton's Flametrees Zuli at Umhlandla.

JUNIOR BITCH(2) 1.Craigie's Imbali Azizi.Tall but feminine bitch with lovely head and expression. Well angulated with good bone, front and feet. Covered the ground well with correct, easy gait. 2.Fawcus'Namna Kwaheri Rosa with
Adaeze. Smaller and finer bitch than 1. Front let down by weak pasterns but good hindquarters with correct turn of stifle.
NOVICE BITCH (3) 1.Knagg's Zejak Yakinia. This bitch took my eye on the move. So full of type and moving with real drive from muscular hindquarters with good width and correctly angulated good strong hocks. Lovely head with good depth to muzzle, correct eye and earset. Considered for reserve best bitch but just lost out on forehand. One I shall definitely watch in the future. 2.Imbali Azizi. 3.Joester's Nyassa Akiba.
POST GRAD BITCH (5) 1.Zejak Yakinia.
2.Barne's Diamondridge Deja Vu. Another nice bitch. Shorter in back than 1 so not moving as freely. Good head of correct proportions. Excellent front and feet. Good topline and the best of ridges.
3.Salmon's Sofala Rosie.

LIMIT BITCH (5.1) 1.Storey's Kambond Kijakazi by Kiromol. Rich red bitch with well balanced attractive head, good earset, pleasing eye and expression and good depth to muzzle. Good angulation all through excelling in hindquarters which are well muscled with good width, correct bend of stifle and strong powerful hocks giving her plenty of drive on the move. A lovely hound. Reserve Best Bitch.
2.Fawcus'Htimsa Adaeze Tara. Different type to 1, but a nice bitch with a good head and level topline. Weak pasterns and narrow hindquarters let her down otherwise a real showgirl.
3.Scott's Belstone Stephanie of Selukwe.

OPEN BITCH (6.1) 1.Crunden's Voortrekker Bamba. This bitch has it all. Good ridge, quality head of correct proportions with length and depth to her muzzle. Correct earset and eye with intelligent expression. Excellent forehand with well formed neck, correct layback of shoulder, length and angulation of upper arm. Elbows close to the body and sound legs and feet. Well ribbed back, strong through the loin with well angulated hindquarters and good strong hocks. Moving so soundly and with such ease. Best Bitch and Best In Show.
2.Barnes' Diamondridge Royal Gold. Another lovely bitch, excelling in her hindquarters and covering the ground effortlessly. Well balanced, powerfully built with good bone, front and feet.
3.Simper's Ch. Matabelle Mercedes.

VETERAN BITCH (7.2) 1.Morris' Ch. Matabelle Masqerade at Kasenga. 12 years old she still retains her glamour and oozes pure quality. Her beautifully arched neck, straight front, well laid back, sloping shoulders are perfection. Her quarters still good, her tail wagging she was obviously enjoying being back in the ring. A very noble lady who definitely stole my heart. A credit to her lucky owner.
2.Craigie's Imbali Kamili Khala. 8 years old. Smaller light wheaten bitch but good in all departments. Moving so well even with her undercarriage flapping.
3.Pinny's Ch. Jespah Akili of Thamani.

STUD DOG (3.2) 1.Simper's Roseridge Regent of Matabelle (imp)
BROOD BITCH (4.3) 1.Craigie's Imbali Kamili Khala
BRACE (4) 1.Craigie's. 2.Scott's 3.Fawcus'
