Championship Show 27 May 2001

Judge Denys Simpson

Many thanks to the committee for the kind invitation to judge their Club show, and to the exhibitors for the sporting manner the placings were received.

BIS went to Lantz's Int. CH. Aakemba King Astor Gi'Fumo. I must say, I'm glad not to be of a nervous disposition, as the scream given by the handler on being presented with the "ticket" was enough to frighten anybody. Had no idea this being his third CC, thus making him an English Champion to go with Champion titles in other countries.
Now to the dog. Good upstanding hound, lovely head, good reach of neck, not too long, set on well laid shoulders, sound front and good bone, and, depth of chest, nice topline, held on the move nice clearly defined ridge, lovely quarters, well muscled, moved well, really strode out, could have gone on all day, beautifully presented. Pleased to award him his crown.

RBIS went to Craven's Hespa Hebe. Good head, that aloof expression, good eye shape, nice strong neck of fair length, good layback of shoulder, legs straight, good bone, nice spring of rib, good length of loin, nice quarters with good bend of stifle, used to the full on the move. In lovely condition pleased to award her the CC.
Best Puppy was Storey's Kiromol Kizazi, who battled it out with her litter brother, the task made a little easier by the handler not presenting the dog to the best of her ability. I'm sure both have a bright future and will keep the breed in good stead in years to come.
A lovely young lady, good head, eye, and expression, strong neck, well laid shoulders, lovely spring of rib, good length of loin, crowns and ridge, well angulated quarters, lovely overall conformation, moved and presented well. Temperaments good throughout, one dog managed a growl.
